Hi, thanks for stopping by. I am so happy you are here.
I wanted to introduce myself a little more than the web page allows.
I used to describe myself as an eclectic counsellor, but I decided not to do that anymore, not because I am not that, but it may come across as “not focussed”, “too broad”, “pretentious” or not even a word that is understood.
How can you trust a counsellor you can’t understand. It could have made you take an instant dislike to me.
So, here we are and I wanted to tell you even though I have no reviews on my website yet, I have worked with 100’s of people who have been guided by me in their darkest of days. They have come out the other side changed people.
Leah Colman
I studied counselling with the Relationships Australia SA educator, Australian Institute of Social Relations.
I studied EFT and Life Coaching with the Australian Tapping Institute. I have Certificate 4’s in Youth Work and Training & Assessment I am a Senior DRUMBEAT facilitator through Holyoake WA.
I have completed training with the Australian Childhood Foundation, Narrative Practices Adelaide and Bower Place SA, to name a few. I have done a lot of training around young people and trauma.
Although I don’t specifically work with young children anymore, I certainly can relate it to cPTSD and trauma responses and why we behave the way we do (even though we don’t want to). I’ve done Family Domestic Violence training: Walking on Eggshells & Step Up (children to adult); Responding to Men (Dallas Colley); Restorative Justice, Lifeline FDV. I have lived the experience myself, both from early childhood and as a young adult.
Over the years, I have done as much training as I could. I love studying and I will always be aware of the latest evidence-based theories.
I love this work. I will hold you to account. I will challenge all that you think.
I promise I will do it gently and respectfully.
